Henry Simmons was born May 6, 1862, died June 2, 1902, aged forty years and twenry-six [six] days.  He was united in marriage to Emma Culver October 31, 1887.  To this union were born seven children, of which one preceded him to the spirit world.  Six children, wife, one sister and many friends are left to mourn their loss.  Brother Simmons was beloved by all who knew him.  He was a good neighbor, a faithful husband and loving father.

     The funeral was conducted by the Rev. C. F. Landis at the home of Mrs. Jane Culver at Galveston Thursday.  The interment was had in the Galveston cemetery.
