I haven't done a lot of work on the Earl family.  They came to Indiana from Kentucky and, before that, Virginia and England.  The spelling varies (Earle, Earls, etc.), but the most recent spelling is Earl.

"My" Earls are descended from Anthony Earl (1833-1913) and Nancy Jane LaForce (1833-1873).
